Some of the
Whiteboard and collaborative tools have the potential to facilitate shared browsing by sharing a screen. The tools on this page, however, will focus on those which are specifically designed to encourage collaborative searching of information on the Internet.
1.
Weblin - This site does require a download and may become a bit annoying if used for a long period of time. In essence you are represented by an Avatar which you can create (see below). When two Weblin users are on the same page their avatars will appear in front of the page and allow the users to chat with each other.

2.
Flock - This tool is a little bit difficult to categorise. In essence it is a browser that incorporates Feeds, a blog, ability to clip text or images from a web page and share these with friends in a social network. It doesn't seem to allow simultaneous browsing but whatever you have found can be instantly shared with others.
3.
Browzmi - This site describes itself as part instant messenger/part social web browser. If I understand correctly, an instant messenger appears on the left hand side of the screen which also shows which sites your friends are on. You can then visit the same sites and chat using the instant messenger. It is not quite simultaneous browsing but would enable a similar experience.
4.
Yaplet - This is a very simple tool that works really well. In essence you type in the name of a website you wish to co browse with your friends. Yaplet automatically shows the web page with a chat box to the right where you can communicate.

5.
Claverdon - This tool claims to allow for co-browsing. It also allows for live highlighting of text and communication between whoever is browsing. There is a paid version which is advert free.
