Music ToolsThis is a featured page

There are plenty of tools around for sharing and listening to music but music creation tools seem to be a bit thin on the ground.

1. Jam Studio - A drag and drop approach to making music. You have a wide selection of instruments and 8 tracks to mix your tune. The one limitation for me is the inability to add a voice. This leaves the online tool with some ground to make up on desktop rivals such as EJay DJ. The songs cannot be downloaded on the free version although a link can be created. Click Here for a quick example.

2.Jamglue - This is a remixing tool. You can upload music or record your own. There is a collection of tracks to add to your mix provided by other uses.

3.Bojam - This site hoped to do for music what wikipedia did for text.

4. Last FM - While not a music creation tool I like this one so much that I think it is worth sharing. It is basically an online radio. You can put in an artist or a track and listen to the song 3 times for free. After this you would have to pay for the song. You can choose to listen to similar artists and the radio will play for ever, a good way to be introduced to new music.

5. BBC Virtual Studio - An online tool to allow you to create your own mixes. There are over 1000 samples to play with on this 4 track mixer.

Fleximusic for Kids Composer is a fantastic piece of software. This is a fantastic site for kids to be able to create their own songs. Click and build features mean that even preschool aged children can have fun with it. Someone with absolutely no music background can create neat tunes that they can then save and put in to multimedia presentations. Try out the 7 day free trial, and you'll be wanting to buy this for your kids.
Do you find this valuable?
