Welcome! This is a website that everyone can build together. It's easy!

Web 2.0 in Education (UK) HomeThis is a featured page

Hello and Welcome to the Web 2 in Education Wiki. This site is designed to provide teachers with a directory of free webtools along with some suggestions as to how they may be used in the classroom. I have searched over 2000 websites and listed over 295 tools, that's almost 300 opportunities for you to use ICT in your classroom and all for free! Where possible I have included a brief review and a screenshot or working example of the tool. If you come across any other tools that are not on my list please let me know. Alternatively, if you use one of these tools in the classroom why not let me know how you got on by becoming a member and joining the discussion forum. In the meantime check out the list of tools on the Site pages to the left or have a look at the Prezi presentation below which showcases a variety of resources created by my students and myself using Free Web 2.0 tools. (May 2009 -If you are a frequent visitor check the What's New page to see which sections I have added new tools to) CLICK ON THE PICTURE TO LAUNCH THE PRESENTATION.

Once you open the presentation, navigate using the arrows in the bottom right hand corner. If you wish to enlarge any of the pictures simply click on them then click the arrow to resume the presentation.

http://sciencestage.com is a global, science-oriented multimedia portal that specializes in online video streaming, which is used to support communication between scientists, scholars, researchers in industry, and professionals. It is also used by academics and students as a virtual educational tool. Video content ranges from conference recordings, to interviews, documentaries, webinars, and tutorials. ScienceStage, as its slogan suggests, also functions as a 'hub' by creating a meta-layer that enables the networking of both users (individuals and groups) and content (video, audio, and documents), which forms an integrated multimedia and social networking platform for scientists.
